When I was first contacted by this family for an extended family session, I did not realize that it would be 150 degrees and humid on the night of our scheduled session. But, much- sweating- and- a -few- trips- to- the- car- for- some- AC later, and we came out with some pretty great shots of a super family. As you can probably tell, little Miss “K” was somewhat the star of our session… except she didn’t want to be:) She just didn’t know what to make of me, and she didn’t quite trust this stranger following her around trying to make her laugh. At one point, Miss “K” even gave me “THE LOOK”, which in 2 year old speak is “Look lady, I don’t know who you are but DON’T try to hold my hand and tell me to stand still because it’s NOT gonna happen!” Fortunatley, her parents, grandparents, Aunt and cousin had a few songs in their reportoire that “K” liked, including a rendention of “What do you do with a scurvy pirate.”
I’m telling you, extended family sessions are FUN! Well, at least her cousin thought I was pretty cool- he was so sweet, he even gave me a hug before he left!
I really do LOVE extended family photo sessions:) I always have so much fun, learning the family dynamics and laughing with everyone about family jokes. I always feel like I really get to know a family in an extended family session, and I always walk away thinking “I bet Thanksgiving with that bunch is fun!” I so enjoyed meeting and getting to know you “S” and “D” families!
