~Giving Back 2012~

I am so thankful for all of you, my clients, who have entrusted me with thier precious photographs this year!  I have met some wonderful new families, and have gotten to know others better:)   It is because of you and through the blessings God gives each of us that I am able to donate a portion of my proceeds every year.  Do you remember this sweet face?

When I took his pictures that day, I felt the still small voice inside of me whisper “help this family help this child.”
When I heard that the Johnson family decided to bring him back again, I knew what I wanted to do:)   They are hosting ”V”  and his brother this Christmas through a special program that matches up orphans  from the Ukraine with willing American families.   It is an opportunity for these children to see American life, learn English, know the love of a family, and most importantly learn about the love Christ has for them.  Check out the Johnson Family  blog here    http://enteringtheborderland.blogspot.com/   and see what you can do to be a blessing to this family and to these boys.

Because, as my friend Christi told me recently, we are not all called to adopt but we are all called to help.

James 1:27 Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, [and] to keep oneself unspotted from the world.

Sparkling Sisters:) The “L” girls {Louisa, VA, Child photographer, Family Photographer}

After a few rain/Dominion Va power delays we got this session in on a beautiful afternoon. I was excited to spend some time with the littlest sis who I had the joy of teaching last year in Preschool. She has recently added glasses to her always put-together look….
As you can see, she prefers the Granny-eyes-over-the-rim- look:) She is so funny!
She is also the 4 year old (FOUR YEAR OLD) who was super excited about Cyber Monday last year….

I enjoyed getting to know biggest sister better too:) As soon as I was ready to snap, Miss “A” was ready with a pose. According to mom and dad- she is ready for her head shot:)

I loved capturing how these two interacted! They are so silly and so sweet:)

My nieces are pretty darn cute!

Don’t try this at home: The “K” Family {Louisa, va, family photographer}

This is the third session that I have been blessed to do for this wonderful family. Having met this family for the first time during our first session, I always look forward to seeing them again, because each time I leave them I walk away feeling happy:) I love these two brothers because they remind me so much of my own 2 crazy boys. Biggest brother has grown a bit since our last session-he is now in 8th grade and had to pause mid-shoot to check his cell phone:) Little brother has also grown- sporting a new middle school hair style:) So, are you wondering about the “don’t try this at home” title line? Well, obviously I would NOT recommend hanging out on the train tracks, but we also found out that apparently you can not go upstairs outside at the courthouse if the judge is in session… so says a county police officer… and that’s all I am going to say:)

Class of 2013! Miss “K” {Louisa, va photographer, Lake Anna, Va Photographer, Senior Photographer}

I realize this is redundant, but I really, really love the part of this business where I get to meet super sweet people!  K is a beautiful Senior and the baby of the family, which I found out just as I was taking the first picture.  I heard mom gasped and she said, ” I think I’m going to cry”… it’s moments like these when a parent is thinking {“Wow! Look how beautiful and grown up my sweet baby girl is.  She will be off to form her own life soon…” }  that I LOVE to capture.  There will never be another time when K is this age, getting ready to face the great big world and all of it’s challenges:)  As I clicked away, I got to know K and her mom and was pleased to discover that not only was this girl super pretty on the outside, but she is on the inside as well:)  She hopes to major in English with a speciality in Film Writing- how cool is that!  K, it was so great to meet you and your sweet mom! I will look for your name in the credits!
